Julio Diaz is a Research Engineer at Instituto Tecnologico de la Energia (ITE).

He has extensive experience in R&D activities as assistant researcher in the Power Electronics group at USB, assistant professor in the Systems and Automation Dept. at UC3M and research engineer at the Center for Automation and Robotics (CAR) CSIC-UPM. Since 2016 he joined to the staff of Instituto Tecnológico de la Energía (ITE) as R&D Engineer in Smart Grids where works on power management control, energy market regulation analysis, renewables energies integration and electromobility. Along his career, has participated on several projects, among can be stand out Risanar, Asirov, ENVITE, MAIGE, WiseGRID. He also performed activities as technical consultant and business developer on Industrial Maintenance as CEO at CAVE Ingeniería or Director at GRUDILEC Formación. B.S. in Electrical Engineering (1996) from the Universidad Simón Bolívar (USB), Venezuela.  M.A.S. in Systems Engineering and Automation (2004) at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M), Spain.
