Julio Castro is Executive Vice President Regulation, of Iberdrola Group.

Mr. Castro joined Red Eléctrica de España (Power System Operator) in 1991 as responsible for tele-control, power system analysis and operation of the high voltage network, in the Dispatching Centre of Northern Spain.

In 1998, he joined Iberdrola, as Analyst in the Strategic Planning Area. In 2001, he was appointed Gas Logistics Director, responsible for maritime transportation and access to the grids (TPA, new regasification terminals and pipelines as Medgaz).

Later, Julio became Global Gas Trading and Shipping - Vice President responsible for gas trading and shipping on a global basis within the company, and gas business Chairman in USA and Canada. Board member of Iberdrola Energy USA, Iberdrola Canada Energy Services, Medgaz, Enstor and Iberian Gas Hub.

Since 2014,  he has been Executive Vice President Regulation In Iberdrola Group.

In the recent past, he is Vice President of the Spanish Gas Association (Sedigas) and Chairman of the Supply Committee.  Currently member of the Directors’ Committee of the Spanish Electricity Association (Unesa)
