James Johnston is the CEO and cofounder of Open Utility, an innovative startup with a mission to be the world's leading software platform for the smart grid. Prior to Open Utility, James spent 3 years researching direct current microgrids at University of Strathclyde, founded Solar Sketch a solar PV design consultancy and worked as an engineer at Arup. James holds a BEng and MSc from University of Strathclyde in Mechanical Engineering.
