Svenska kraftnät is an electricity transmission system operator in Sweden. It is a state-owned public utility, which was created in 1992 by splitting the former government agency Vattenfall into a power generation company and a transmission company. They are the authority responsible for ensuring that Sweden's transmission system for electricity is safe, environmentally sound and cost-effective. They have a 2018 company-wide change project to adapt the company to the energy transition.
